Introduction
Raiding can be stressful,
tiring, and requires complete focus and determination. Part of the enjoyment
found in raiding is the camaraderie through observing the strengths /
weaknesses of both yourself and your team. Mistakes and miss-calculated
judgments will occur from time to time. We are all human and need to
remember the greater goals of the Guild.
A common misconception is
that Raid Leaders or The Guild itself will walk you through every detail of
the battles to come. The raid success falls upon every individual moving
through the experience, not just the Leader.
Non-Guild
Members
Often we will invite
non-guild members to our Groups and Raids. We want to make sure that these
individuals feel as though they are appreciated for their efforts. No member
of any raid should leave feeling mistreated.
Over 80% of our
recruitment comes from inviting non-guild members to our events. This is the
time to show other Guilds that we carry the utmost mature, respectable, and
non-greedy members of the realm.
These Raid Members may roll on every
piece of loot, by class, and are not subject to the regulations and
expectations of the Guild. They, in fact, aided the Guild on a successful
Raid, and thus, should be allowed to roll on the rewards by class. This
method of recruitment has been our Guild way for many years, and it is
quantifiably one ethical judgment that will not be released.
Thank
the non-Guild Members for the help, the effort, and the drive to assist our
Guild in meeting our goals.

i. By adhering to this one section of the
document, you may find that you, yourself, are both rewarded with respect as
well as a hopeful completion of the event.
ii. Raid Leaders are
sometimes chosen, and sometimes thrown into the fire. This promotes strategy
concentration as well as the learning experience required to run successful
events in the absence of an “Official” Raid Leader.
iii. By listening
to these individuals, the knowledge obtained through trial and error /
success and failure is worth more than any item one could obtain from
downing the most wretched of beasts.
iv. In a guild where we are all
leaders, a raid member may be required, from time to time, to step up and
lead a specific portion of the event.
1. Having listened to the prior
event details and strategies would come in quite useful at those times.
Most
importantly, we want everyone to have a good time, have fun, and build
memories.
